The Ruins Of Nalanda University : The Cultural Heritage Of Bihar

The  Nalanda  Mahavihara  had  been  a  great seat  of  learning  for  about  eight  hundred  years ( from5th centuary ad  to 13th A.D. )   At  the very beginning this  was  just  a  monastic  institution  accommodating thousands  of travelling  monks  coming  from  different regions  of  country  and  the world . During their  stay at  Nalanda monestry the  Budha"sDhamma  and  vinaya  based  on  "Pariyatti" and " Partipatti"
"dhamasasanam"  etc.Senior  monks  gave sermons  while the junior  monks attended  their  sermons. this was the  beginning  of the ancient  Nalanda  Mahavihara . This monastic  establishment  developed and  ultimately it  become the  first  and  the  foremost  university  unparalleled.in  the  world . This reputation was  so furthered  that  it  came  to  be known  as the "University  of  Universities"

                                                                                                 Geographically   speaking  ,Nalanda  can be spotted  tourist  map  of  India as  one  of the  best  archeological sites  that  we  Indians  can  be  proud  of . The  ruins  of  famed university were  found  in  Bargaon  village  situated  near  Nalanda Railway  station  on  Bakhtiyarpur,,Bihar  branch line  of  the Eastern  Railway.If  one  goes  to  trace  the  place  today,comes across the partially excavated  ruins  of the  ancient University  of Nalanda  with a  number  of  villages  around  having  variety  of  Budha  images  in  different  forms
